Lotta Uusitalo

Lotta has over 25 years of experience advising on demanding domestic and international competition law matters, including competition law assessment of M&A transactions, merger control, cartel investigations, competition law assessment of cooperation arrangements, distribution agreements, allegations of abuse of dominance and damages actions.

Lotta has particular expertise in competition and regulatory issues within the energy and infrastructure sector, including nuclear power, wind power, hydropower, district heating production and network regulation. She has advised extensively on competition law issues relating to the Finnish Mankala model as well as sector-specific agreements.

Lotta also brings strong commercial industry knowledge from the automotive sector, where she has worked as an adviser and client partner for over 25 years.

Lotta provides practical, business-oriented advice and places great importance on understanding her clients’ business. She holds several positions of trust in competition law, including as an expert member of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Employment's EU Division and the Finnish Bar Association's Competition Law Expert Group. Lotta is also a board member of the Finnish Corporate Sustainability Law Association. In her free time, she focuses on family life.
